Computer-Aided Translation, Terminology Research & Quality Assurance

We use the best technological solutions available and choose the most suitable for each individual project to deliver professional and high quality translations. The use of the most advanced computer-aided translation tools (Computer-Aided Translation) enhances efficiency and productivity, allowing us to reuse, update and implement the resources we have built up over time, which in turn significantly reduce costs.

Our staff and freelancers are expert users of software such as SDL Trados, Déjà vu, SDLX, which are designed to assist the translation process through the use of translation memories (TMs). TMs are bilingual databases built by and for the translator so as to guarantee maximum consistency in style and terminology during the translation and revision process. The use of TMs enables us to customize the end product to meet each client’s needs. Unlike what happens in automated translation, in computer-aided translation the translator’s input is essential and guarantees an optimum result in terms of language, style and terminology.

We also build and maintain termbases, specialist dictionaries and monolingual, bilingual or multilingual glossaries with the most advanced technological tools available on the market. We specialize in ad hoc and domain terminology, targeted at standardizing specialist vocabulary in each industry area. We build our resources manually with SDL Multiterm (complex resources whose content is customizable according to requirements) and semi-automatically with SDL Multiterm Extract (to speed up the creation of glossaries from pre-existing resources, such as translation memories).

Quality Assurance (QA) software is an integral part of our management and quality control system. Leading-edge programs such as QA Checker and ApSIC Xbench enable us to consistently meet our demanding standards of quality, both for consistency of terminology and for style.

Finally, we also offer desktop publishing (DTP) services and are able to work with an extensive range of file formats.
